If you have a used cell phone lying around that you want to donate for a child in Africa, please follow the steps below. We accept any phone with a SIM Card as long as it is still working. If your screen is cracked that is not a problem as long as the phone is still operational. We have limited funds available to repair screens, but in many cases a cracked screen is not a problem.

In order for a phone to function in Africa is has to have a SIM card. Older Verizon and Sprint phones do not normally have SIM cards. Verizon/Sprint iPhones older than the iPhone 6 do not use a SIM card and we are unable to send them. If you are unsure, you can send it us and we can determine if it will work in Africa.

Remember to include the charger if you still have it. Cell phone chargers work anywhere in the world, including Africa. We will add the required adapter so the child receiving the phone can plug in your charger in the wall where they live.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization so donations are tax deductible, click here for more tax info from IRS. We will send you a donation receipt so you can deduct it on your tax return.

Send us a note using the contact form below. If you know, please include make and model of the phone. We will email you a prepaid shipping label. If you want to preserve our limited funds that we receive from donations, you can also ship it to us yourself at this address:

If you know how to, please factory reset your phone to remove all your data. If you do not know how to do this, no worries, contact us and we will help you. If your phone is under contract with your cellphone provider, please give them a call and ask them to unlock it to make it easier for the receiver to activate your phone in Africa.

Put the phone in a box and mail it to us. That’s it.
